The Grade 4s tell us about their dairy farm outing

On 31 October 2017, the Grade 4s visited Douglasdale Dairy Farm, to learn more about dairy farming.

Grade 4 pupils, Maxima van den Steen and Riley Egbers, report back on the fabulous experience:

Our drive to Douglasdale Dairy Farm was a smooth and easy ride. When we arrived at Douglasdale Dairy,a lady showed us to a small room where she told us more about dairy farms. Afterwards, we were showed to the baby bulls; we could feed them milk and play with them.

We then took a little walk to the factory and watched the workers bottle the milk. We were allowed to try out the shoe washing machine. Before we were allowed into the factory, we all had to put on a hairnet and a white coat. We all looked ridiculous!

We walked back to the old farmhouse and got our delicious lunches out of the bus. After lunch we played lots of fun games  before meeting up as the time had come to go home. But wait, we forgot to say something! Before we left we got a packet that had two glasses that said Douglasdale dairy on them and a bottle of fresh, fresh full cream milk.

We really enjoyed the Douglasdale Dairy Farm outing!
