High School: Head of Sport

Dainfern College Preparatory requires the following teacher w.e.f. 1 January 2019:

HEAD OF SPORT: HIGH SCHOOL

Dainfern College is an independent English-medium, co-educational school situated on Broadacres Drive, Dainfern. We seek to develop skills for life required to unlock unique personal potential and to nurture creative thinkers with the confidence to become leaders – through the provision of an innovative, relevant, and quality education.

Dainfern College seeks to employ a person to be accountable for all sports extramural activities, the organisation of the extramural timetable and the teaching of Physical Education within the Life Orientation curriculum in the High School at Dainfern College. This person will need to have an in-depth knowledge of sport and its administration and be passionate about the benefit it has for children in a high school environment. This person will also need to have outstanding organisational and interpersonal abilities.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Strong leadership and management qualities
  • Vision to enrich the High School sports programme and be supportive of strategic goals
  • A high-level skill set with an in-depth knowledge of sports education and philosophy, including a thorough understanding of young people
  • The ability to develop and sustain new ideas and work cooperatively in a team
  • Proven experience in sports administration with excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all parties
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound computer literacy skills with added skills in IT innovation
  • Knowledge of preparing and managing budgets
  • Commitment to attending fixtures and functions throughout the High School
  • The intention to work to the College’s ethos, specification and policies
  • A relevant degree or qualification and SACE registration
