FEDA festival entry commended

Our participation in the prestigious FEDA interschools play festival this year has continued the proud tradition of our students’ exploring and delving into challenging and controversial topics.

This year, Skye Goss, an accomplished and seasoned performer, took on the role of directing ‘The Most Massive Woman Wins’ by Madeleine George. She and her passionate performers, Chiara Watson, Cameron Smit, Loyiso Ngebulana and Keamogetse Katane, interrogated the contentious issue of women’s self-image. The chosen play exposed the damage inflicted by societal norms, fashion dictates and familial pressures. All performers excelled with their bold and daring portrayals, executed with insightful characterisation and searing truthfulness. The skilful direction by Skye Goss ensured a thought-provoking production, true to the ideals of this performance festival, which aims to give young theatre-makers a platform for their voices to be heard. The students ‘spoke’ loudly and clearly and were applauded by the adjudicators for their courageous performance of a message that needs to be heard.

We applaud these students for their sterling representation of Dainfern College’s talent in the Performing Arts!
