Earth Hour 2017

In the early evening of 4 March 2017, families and friends joined together on our school field for the annual Earth Hour Picnic. A spectacular sunset got the evening off to a magical start, with bonfires, delicious hot chocolate and superb music (from the High School rock band) to fill the evening with enjoyment. Later on in the evening we had a fun quiz, challenging our knowledge of the environment, and the winners of each round received lovely solar jars.

The purpose of the evening was to bring awareness of the ever-changing Earth we live on, as well as the issues of global warming and climate change. We switched off the school lights of the school after 20h00, and let the light of the bonfires send a powerful Earth Hour message.

Dainfern College is concerned about the environment and took a stand through the Earth Hour event. Students and staff posted photographs on social media in support of Earth Hour.

Thank you to Round Square, World Challenge, the Dainfern College Foundation and the attending families and students for their support of this wonderful evening. We hope to see you all next year.
